KYN28-12 is an indoor metal-clad withdrawable high-voltage switchgear. Below is its detailed introduction:


‌Overview‌

The KYN28-12 switchgear is suitable for single-busbar, single-busbar sectioned, and double-busbar systems with a rated voltage of 3–12 kV and three-phase AC 50 Hz. It is used in power plants, power systems, and substation installations of industrial and mining enterprises for receiving and distributing electrical power, starting high-voltage motors, and other applications. It enables control, protection, and monitoring of electrical equipment.


Structural Features‌

Cubicle Structure:‌ The enclosure is fabricated by bolting together aluminum-zinc-coated steel sheets that have been processed through multiple bending operations on CNC machines, ensuring dimensional consistency. The overall enclosure achieves an IP4X protection rating, while individual compartments attain IP2X. The switchgear is divided by partitions into the trolley compartment, busbar compartment, cable compartment, and relay/instrument compartment, with each unit independently grounded.

Trolley:‌ Depending on application, trolleys are classified into types such as circuit-breaker trolleys, voltage transformer trolleys, etc., and trolleys of the same type are interchangeable. The trolley has two defined positions within the cubicle: test/isolation position and service (operating) position. Interlocking mechanisms are provided to prevent unauthorized movement of the trolley when it is in either of these positions.

Circuit-Breaker Trolley Compartment:‌ Equipped with dedicated guide rails for trolley movement. As the circuit breaker moves between the test and service positions, the automatic shutter mechanism opens or closes accordingly to isolate live parts. The trolley can be operated with the cubicle door closed, and its position and status indicators can be visually confirmed through an observation window.

Cable Compartment:‌ Offers ample space for connecting multiple cables and can also accommodate auxiliary devices such as current transformers, earthing switches, surge arresters, etc.

Instrument Compartment:‌ Designed for mounting secondary components including control and protective relays, metering and display instruments, live-line indicators, and other monitoring devices.

‌Convenient Installation and Maintenance:‌ The cubicle can be installed against a wall with front access for maintenance, reducing the required floor space. Heaters can be independently installed in the circuit breaker compartment and cable compartment to prevent condensation and corrosion.
